It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood

There probably aren't many nice warm days left this year here in Utah. That's why I just had to take advantage of the sunshine and a gorgeous park near our house. I love where we live! And just check out my grown up 2 year old!

First, up the stairs...
up the ladder (scared me more than it scared her...)
and down the slide
then on to this cool zip line swing.
All the while, this little boy sleeps in the baby carrier.
Yes, this is the best picture I could get of him.
In other news, Luke has started to smile! They're not just gas faces... well I don't think they are. He was smiling at me whenever I stuck my tongue out.

Well, that's what we've been up to. Have a beautiful day!

Well, it's been a while...

In fact, it's been so long that I now need a new name for my blog. Any ideas?
My ideas so far include:
The Four Bears (hah!)
Ash and Kaelyn
and Love, the Roberts' <<--Yeah I think I like that one the best.

Say hello to baby Luke!
Yep, we are now a family of four. It's basically awesome. We're looking forward to sharing our adventures with you again!

Give Thanks

I'm  thankful for my family

This week, we celebrated Thanksgiving with lots of food, lots of family, and lots of gratitude lists. Our family has a tradition where we go around the dinner table and say what we're thankful for. However many years old we are, that's how many we must list. It's kind of fun and sometimes a little silly, but it's a great way to remember little things that we really do appreciate. I'm going to attempt to put my list here, but it may be different from what it was on Thursday...

1. Ashley
2. Elsie
3. Parents
4. Siblings
5. Friends
8. Jesus
9. Prayer
10. Love
11. Food
12. Clothes
13. Home
14. Showers
15. Toilets
16. Music
17. Water
18. Sunshine
19. Air
20. Cars
21. Teeth
22. Mountains
23. Family

Well, there it is. I could do many more if I tried. Lolly did 72! I challenge you to make your own gratitude list. It will make you smile.

The Pumpkin Patch

Well, it's definitely fall. Today Grandmom and Elsie and I went to the pumpkin patch together. It was Elsie's AND Grandmom's first pumpkin patch experience.
There was a corn pit. Elsie LOVED it. I found a few corn kernels in her shoes afterward.

She was following this little boy around and trying to copy whatever he was doing.
There was a little petting zoo. This is a teacup pig.
This is definitely not a teacup pig. I think it was about 2700 pounds.
Grandmom got in the corn pit with Elsie for a little while and watched Elsie rolling in it...
She admitted to me that she thinks it would be lovely to roll around in there. But she didn't.
Then she pulled Elsie in the wagon over to the pumpkins, where we/Elsie picked out a white pumpkin.

That was the end for us because Elsie was tired (and so was I).

My Girl

I've got sunshine
on a cloudy day.
When it's cold outside
I've got the month of May.

I guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl.

Hi Again

Well, it's been way too long! My sister has practically been begging me to update my blog. I guess I just haven't felt much like a blogger the past few months. You know, like the kind of person who just sits down and has awesome pictures and the perfect words to share with everyone. But that's no excuse. So here I am.

June:

Elsie turned 1.
So I made her a ONEsie (haha),

And a birthday cake,

Which she very cautiously bit into, and thoroughly enjoyed.

The next week we had Elsie's first birthday party! It was a cupcake theme. Get ready for an overload of pictures!

all set up before everyone arrived

Elsie's favorite toy turned out to be this balloon

July:

My little sister Sarah left on her mission to New Jersey!

Here she is with Elsie and Quinn (second cousins?)

And we had some family pictures taken

Then... Ashley, Elsie and I went to South Africa for a whole month! I think those pictures will have to come in another post. But it was great! It was Elsie's first time meeting Ash's family. Also, Ash and I spent our 2 year anniversary there. <3 Love you, babe!

Now it's bath time and then bed time. But before I leave, I must show you a picture of Elsie's hair!

It's curly!

Okay, two pictures. I did a ponytail in her hair today.
